Four specimens of heather vole (genus Phenacomys) collected in the coastal mountains of Southeast Alaska document the first Recent records of this vole in Alaska. Alternative hypotheses on the relationship of these newly-discovered populations to extant and historical populations are outlined, and additional studies proposed.Downloads
